With the school nearing student capacity, and with the ongoing government guidance to keep different school bubbles from socialising. There was a requirement to provide a new 6th form block to allow the 6th form students a brand-new facility, to study and learn in.

The Qube were initially called out to site to investigate reconfiguring some of the existing internal layouts, to make better use of the space. Due to the yearly student influx and the need to keep the existing school layout the same, the Qube investigated the possibility of constructing a new modular build within the school’s green space. Space was tight, with major differences in levels across the external areas. However, with the use of an innovative foundation system and careful planning and implementation, the Qube were able to build an impressive 6th form block whilst complying with the school’s health and safety procedures, to maintain a managed segregation between construction activities and school activities.
